Joy is not merely a teacher to me but she is a great mentor. With her many years of experience, she helped me achieve a higher score in IELTS than I initially intended. Her teaching method is so unique that has made learning IELTS so easy. Besides all the invaluable points on IELTS, she was always there for me during the stressful process. She never let me give up and always guided me towards the right path. I believe IELTS was an opportunity for me to get to know such an amazing soul. This is to specially thank Joy for supporting my spouse and I to succeed in our IELTS exams. To be honest, having come from an English speaking country, we didn't think that passing IELTS could be difficult. We wanted to do the IELTS for immigration purposes, but thought getting an instructor to prepare us for the tests was really not necessary. Our aim was however that we could raise high scores, which would compensate the other factors that we were not meeting for express entry selection. We opted to register for the exams and just study on our own using resources available from the Internet and those provided through the British Council website. The disappointing thing was that despite our best study techniques and strong English background, my spouse and I respectively, only managed to raise overall band scores of 6.5 and 7.0 during our first sitting. While these scores were generally good, they still could not help us meet the threshold that we were aiming at. We got Joy to prepare us and in our second sitting, my spouse got an overall score of 7.5 while I pulled 8.5. I found Joy to be extremely skillful in identifying specific gaps that ordinarily may not be easy to detect, even by some good instructors. Joy will always look at your problem as if it is not a problem at all and take it up as if it were her own. She will equip you with unique task interpretive skills and provide you with the techniques to tackle very challenging questions that come in the reading task. She will help improve your confidence in engaging with the examiner during the speaking task and boost your level of creativity for the writing test. I cannot recommend her enough, particularly for those wanting to attain high band scores in the IELTS without having to go through the horrors of multiple attempts.
